3rd International Art On Billboards Festival

The idea of Art Moves Festival is presentation and popularization of art on billboards and the exchange of experiences concerning actions in the public area and also visual aspects showing up-to-date culture। The artwork is supposed to be a creative response to this year’s competition theme: "Together or apart?" This slogan can serve as a kind of a metaphor of the processes taking place in the contemporary world. Both individuals and the whole societies are faced with such a choice. Do they want to live together, contribute, collaborate and, as a result create shared value, or do they want to lead a separate, individual life of their own? Is it better to be single or in a stable relationship? Is being a member of a larger organization, like the European Union better than staying apart? Is it better to feel a part of your nation or rather an individual citizen? The possible interpretations are multiple. So, together or apart? Eligibility All artists and students, worldwide. Prize The best 10 artworks selected by an international jury panel will be printed and exhibited in the urban space of the city of Torun, Poland in September/October 2010. The author of the winning entry will receive the Main Award in the amount of PLN 7000 (approx. € 1750, $ 2200). There is no entry fee.

Graphic Ideas To Protect The Biodiversity

The United Nations declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity. In this framework, on October Kaleidoscienza organizes a one-day-event to promote thoughts and ideas on topics concerning the role of biodiversity in our lives. Kaleidoscienza, in collaboration with Graphicplayers, announce an open call for the international exhibition: ’2010 BIO-GRAPHICS’. The call invites the participants to imagine a future scenario in which biodiversity will be a focal value of society. Rediscovering traditions, connected to family and country habits, to people’s common sense, to the value of sharing, and to the singularity of local areas (composed by human communities and environment) can be regarded as a tool for preserving biodiversity. The technological progress of the future society will enable mankind to recover traditions of past generations. Unlike what is happening in the last few decades, with reckless consumerism endangering our environment, the integration of technology and traditions will promote the respect of natural environment. Eligibility The contest is free and open to everyone from all over the world, at any age. Participants are invited to submit their work dealing with the call topic in the form of a poster. File JPEG (maximum quality), RGB, vertical orientation cm 50x70 at 150dpi (2953×4134 pixel), maximum file size smaller than 8 MB. Prize The most valueable works will be selected and exhibited during the one-day-event on biodiversity organized by Kaleidoscienza cultural association.
